Notes:
The final score was no indicator of the actual game.  7 times the Buccaneers were inside the 49ers 20 only to
give the ball 6 times. (4 Brad Johnson INT and 2 Michael Pittman fumbles).  Ronnie Lott's 95-yd INT return on the first drive got it started after Karl Williams
took the opening kickoff to the 49ers 27-yd line. Trailing 10-0 late in the 2nd quarter, Eric Wright picked off
a Brad Johnson pass at the 49ers 10 and took it the distance to put the 49ers up 17-0 at the half.  That was
also the last pass for Brad Johnson, who was replaced by Shawn King to start the 2nd half.  Roger Craig scored from
7-yds out on the 1st possession of the 2nd half for SF to put them up 24-0.  After cutting the lead to 24-7 and forcing
a 3 and out, Shawn King was picked off by Ronnie Lott deep in their own territory, which set up a Montana to Rice 2-yd TD
pass. Michael Pittman ran all over the 49ers defense, but committed 2 costly fumbles near the goal line. Eric Wright's 4th quarter INT led to the 49ers final TD, coming on a Montana to John Taylor 10-yd pass.

Steve Young threw 2 4th quarter TD passes (the last with :02 remaining) but it was far to little to late as
the Dolphins prevailed.  Young had an AWFUL 1st half, connecting on just 2 of 10 passes for 46 yards while throwing
4 INT.  The Dolphins did just enough offensively to win as Garo Yepremian kicked 5 FG to help secure the win.

Ernest Byner took the 1st play from 80-yds helped by a great block from Gerald Riggs on John Mobley.  That was a fortune of things
to come as the Redskins dominated the Broncos defense.   Mark Rypien threw for 439 yards and 3 TD, while the Redskins totaled 672 yards in
the win.

on two 4th quarter TD drives to give the 49ers a stunning 28-21 win.  Young connected with John Taylor to tie the game
at 21 with just over 3 minutes left.  After forcing a 3-and out, Young hit Taylor again this time for a 25-yd gain to set up a Roger
Craig's 29-yd TD run with 1:21 left to give the 49ers the lead for good.

Marshall Faulk: 11 rush, 29 yds, TD, fumble, 7 rec., 119 yds, TD
Isaac Bruce: 9 receptions, 201 yds, TD

Notes:
Rams had the ball at the time of the two-minute warning with the Redskins only
having 1 time out remaining and trailing 31-27.   On the first play after the
two-minute warning, back-up defensive end Jason Buck (in for an injured Charles Mann)
stripped Rams RB Marshall Faulk of the ball and Redskins LB Monte Coleman recovered the ball on the Rams 47.
Redskins QB Mark Rypien then completed 2 of 3 passes for just 7 yds, setting up a 4th and 3 on the
Rams 40.  Rypien's 4th down pass was knocked down by London Fletcher, looking to give the
Rams the win...however Rams DT D'Marco Farr was flagged for a late hit on Mark Rypien, giving the
Redskins a 1st and 10 on the Rams 25 with :47 seconds left.  On 3rd and 1, Rypien hit Gary Clark
for a 16-yd TD pass with :07 left to give the Redskins the win.

Ray Lewis: 14 tackles, 2 FF, FR, 2 sacks
Kevin Smith: 3 INT, 101 INT Yds
Jamaal Lewis: 21 rush, 19 yds

Notes:
A VERY ugly game which included 9 turnovers (4 by Dallas, 5 by Baltimore)
saw the Cowboys put the game away late in the 4th quarter when Trent Dilfer
was picked off by Kevin Smith for the 3rd time and returned the ball inside the
Ravens 5, where Emmitt Smith rushed in from 2-yds out to give the Cowboys a 14-3 lead.
The Ravens were set-up at the Cowboys 14-yd line after Ray Lewis forced his 2nd fumble
of the game on an Emmitt Smith trap play.  Lewis was amazing, collecting 14 tackles and
single-handedly keeping the Ravens in the game.

Roger Craig: 15 rush, 75 yds, TD
Len Dawson: 19-30, 276 yds, 2 TD, INT
Jan Stenerud: 2 FG (GW 40-yd)

Notes:
A late Ray Wershing FG (his 4th of the game) with :51 seconds left, gave the 49ers the lead for lead.  Looking to rally the Chiefs, Len Dawson was picked off by Dwight Hicks for what looked to be the 2nd time, only to have the play nulified because of pass interference.  On the next play, Dawson hit Frank Pitts over the middle for a 34-yd game to put the ball on the 49ers 23 with :12 left and the clock ticking down.  Dawson led the Chiefs to the line of scrimmage where he spiked the ball with :02 left.  Jan Stenerud then booted the GW 40-yd FG to give the Chiefs an amazing win.

Key Stats:
Bart Starr: 3-13, 15 yds, 3 INT in 1st half
Bart Starr: 17-43, 189 yds, 6 INT

Walter Payton: 25 rush, 117 yds, TD
Jim McMahon: 10-27, 165 yds, TD, INT
Leslie Fraizer: 9 tackles, 2 INT
3rd down conversions
Bears: 2-14
Packers: 2-15

Notes:
Midway through the 1st quarter a Walter Payton 1-yd TD run was erased when FB Matt Shuey was caught holding Ray Nitschke.
The Bears had to settle for a Kevin Butler FG.  That was about the only thing the Bears did wrong in the 1st half as
their defense dominated the Packers and Bart Starr intercepting him 3 times and holding the Packers to just 39 total yards,
while allowing 1 1st down.  The 2nd half saw the Bears continue to dominate defensively, holding the Packers to no points
while intercepting Starr 3 more times.  Through 2 tournament games the Bears have allowed 3 points while intercepting their
opposition 12 times.

Emmitt Smith: 24 rush, 126 yds, TD, Fumble
Fred Biletnikoff: 5 receptions, 116 yds
Notes:
A hard fought battle was looked to be put away by the Raiders late in the 4th quarter when Kelvin Martin fumbled a punt by Ray Guy and it was returned
22-yds for a touchdown by Rick Bonness to give the Raiders an 8-pt lead.  On their next possession the Cowboys gave up the ball on downs and the Raiders
took the ball down to :12 after a Ray Guy punt.  Troy Aikman then hit Alvin Harper on a desperate 54-yd TD pass as time expired to move the Cowboys
within a 2-pt conversion of tying the game.  It was not meant to be however, as Emmitt Smith was stopped by Dave Rowe at the one to preserve the win for the Raiders.

In a game filled with 4th quarter action the Cowboys trailed 16-6 with just under 4 minutes left when Roger Staubach hit
Golden Richards for 80-yd TD pass.  The Patriots quickly answered as Tom Brady hit David Givins on a 80-yd TD pass to push
their lead back to 10 at 23-13.  Staubach then led the Cowboys 80 yds in 10 plays to cut the lead to 3 with just over 2 minutes
