Greatest All Time Franchise Tournament
Ground Rules
An All Time Texans team was created for this tourney. In all other cases the maddenhistoric filled in all time teams were used. In the cases of generic players I used players from the extra players suggestions list at the bottom of the rosters. In most cases I did not alter overall players ratings, in those few cases I did alter the ratings I made sure no player was greater than an overall 82. And in some cases I did change a players position and took two-way players into account like Doak Walker for the Lions and Red Grange for the Bears.
I will be using the World Cup playoff format since this is a World Cup year and these are all star teams. It will be a lot more work for me but may spice things up a bit for the fan. The format is 8 divisions of four teams. Each team will play the other division opponent once. Two teams from each division will qualify for the sweet 16 round of single elimination play. That guarantees each team will play at least three games. Seeds and divisions will be randomly assigned based on drawing names from a hat. ie team 1-8 will be assigned to a respective division then teams 9-16 will be the second teams chosen for their divisions and so on. To do this we did 8 different 4 team/2 playoff winner tournaments. Afterwards we will start a 16 team single elimation tourney with the playoff teams. Seeds for the round of 16 will be determined after divisional play has finished.
We will play 8 minute quarters on all pro, no AI adjustments.
